I had a very vivid, yet short, dream last night. The roles of all people were folks I knew from growing up in Oregon, seemingly picked at random. I was at an outside park area by a big lake. Some big party-fair-celebration thing was going on. In the lake there were people dressed in full bunny suits, in the water but on stilts, and they were probably three-four feet up from the water level. These bunny people would then push each other and fight until one fell down! It was great.
They also had food at this event. The two meals were pumpkin pie and vats of whipped cream. The whipped cream came in different colors and flavors! Anyway, I got a plate of pie and cream and went to the back 'sit-down' area. But, there was a guy in my way, and he was blocking everybody from getting past unless they answered his question. So, I say to the guy:
"Ask me your question gatekeeper, I'm not afraid."
"Yes, answer me this question! Are the restrooms ahead of your or behind you?"
"...since I only see grass and water in front of me, I'll say behind me."
"You are correct. You know, everybody's gotten that right."
I then walked to the back and picked up some mushroom-pineapple skewers. I also saw several people, including a couple that was introducing the final deathmatch round of rabbit madness. Then the alarm went off. Damn that alarm.
In other news, I was going through a Czechoslovakian website and came across this link to
Bridget Jonesova. I love
internationalization.
Citibank is a bunch of punks. Don't go with them. Punks punks punks.
I played a Half-Life 2 deathmatch yesterday w/ the ferocious Bunch and Garhan. Finally, worthy competition. It was awesome! Only in Half-Life 2 can you try to push a car to the roof of a building. I love this game. They really need more than two maps, though.
Lastly, this weekend I was hanging out with Caireny (my new roommate, I think), and she had me put some
Pickle Twang in my beer. Dude, Pickle Twang does
not go in beer! Good times were had though, twang or not. Saw The Kills, they were pretty good, though they looked completely strung out.

Good Lord guys, I turn my head for a day and you post in 'chapters'. When you start posting regular expressions, that's pretty dorky.
I've got a couple changes to make - don't worry Bug, you'll get your parsed links!

yeah... I blame that on the wrist braces... sure...
anyway, a Disguise is supposed to be a sign you are trying to hide something or that someone is plotting against you in some way. Shit, you caught me!!! =) hehe.

Also, masks are listed, and those in the dream wearing masks may indicate you fear that person's motives are not genuine. So if you recall the names of the people in the suits, they may be people you are suspicious of.
As for the Lakes...
- Stormy waters are an unfavorable omen
- Last but NOT least, Monsters in the water (DEFINATELY applies here, with those scary bunnies!) mean your subconscious is warning you about possible competition in the emotional stakes.
There are probably others, but to my suprise, the book specifically does NOT mention:
Mushrooms, Pumpkins, Pie, Pineapple, Cream (whipped or otherwise), or Fighting.
So, you tell me, is the book in any way accurate? =) hehe.

Well, I find that sad as well, but what is truly troubling is that this is a far more reliable way to converse... ICQ seems to "forget" to deliver messages between us at times, possibly the fault of us somehow along the line, I suppose. But, this works for now! =)

On another note, I find it hilarous that we have also essentially taken over this blog, or balrog, or whatever, and are using it for our own purposes!
I thought it was funny today to read the replies and see that only Garhan had commented a bit about this dream Mr. Karikas spoke of, and then we forgot the topic.
I for one find the dream hilarious. I do think the setting in question fits well as Wallowa Lake, a common place to find Mr. Karikas in the summers as a child.
Ah, the things we could do with dream analysis here... Perhaps I should give it a go to start off... I'm not much good at it though.

Resistance is futile! Come over to the geek side of the force!
... there, the final stake in my "dork" coffin :)
I'm more fascinated with the fact that Bunches and I are using this as a replacement for ICQ at the moment!

Put something like the following in a function and be done with it! Er, providing you're using PHP on this contraption of course...
$text = nl2br(stripslashes($text)) ;
// URLs
$text = preg_replace("/([[:alpha:]]+:\\/\\/[^<>\s]+[\\w\\/])/i", "$1", $text) ;

On a side note, while doing some research-ish crapola yesterday I finally decided to download the OpenBSD songs (http://www.openbsd.org/lyrics.html) and found them rather entertaining. They're in a variety of music styles, including my favorite one (the 3.5 release) which is a Python-ish skit. Good stuff! Now to get done with this school semester so I can go back to breaking cars over your head in HL2!
