Saturday was totally bizarre. I like to think of it as 'convergence Saturday' - I kept running into people on the street (even
Ann from San Diego), saw my friend
Anna's doppelganger, and hung out with an old friend I haven't seen in a couple years. My old homegirl Sarah from Puyallup was even in town that night, even though I didn't get to see her. Totally bizzare.
So a couple big things happened this week - one is that I got tickets to see
The Animation Show on Friday - I'm totally stoked. It's opening night, and
Don Hertzfeldt and
Mike Judge should both be there (schedule permitting). I'm so excited to see Don's new film, I've read some reviews where people cried. Ahhhh, I just can't shut up about it! I found this
Sundance review that was pretty interesting - I'd like to see most of the films on there, good film is good.
I saw a guy on a bike the other night with
these things on his spokes - I think they're megarad. 'Hokey Spokes', they call'em. A little cheesy, but they add much to the mystery of one's bicycle. They will be mine, and this will complete Spokey's image (I think I'm going to call my electric bike Spokey, we'll see if it sticks).
While looking up those spoke things I also came across, at long last,
Mega Extreme Unicycle Off-Roading!. Tell me that's not the craziest thing you've seen! Unicycles man, that's just so cool. Maybe I need to take Unicycling at my Circus School.
This is a
pretty cool store. I dig how the design company behind it did the site for Dave Egger's
writing place -slash-
pirate store in San Fran. If I go to San Fran someday I am so there.
...and I think that's all. Time to get some shuteye. Hope you all had a fantastic President's Day.
