What is it?
This is an educational film I made with my video buddy Zac during my Sophomore year of high school. It was for a class project about the Vietnam war. In retrospect, this video really doesn't have much to do with the war, or with accurate information, or even accurate viewpoints, but it was still fun to make.
Date10-07-1998
Notes
· Of the 20 or so films Zac and I made before graduating high school, this really marked the beginning of the computer editing age
· The super-imposed Vietnamese and overall quality is especially poor in hindsight
· One of our only films with credits!
· One of the explosion effects is stolen from a Sailor Moon video clip
Tech
· I believe this was the first video I made after aquiring a Matrox G200-Marvel video card for computer editing. Hot stuff for '98!
· Filmed with ancient monolithic straight-to-VHS camera
· Edited with Adobe Premier 4.2
· Most sound effects and graphics courtesy of Doom II, Quake, and Mortal Kombat III
· Green screening brought to you by florescent Wal*Mart poster board.
· Originally 'archived' using Intel's Indeo 5.1 codec (probably the best at the time to fit it all on a single CD)
