Check this out - I saw
this digital camera that is like a (needlessly?) high-tech Polaroid. In addition to taking photos, it also prints them for you out of an attached printer.
But the fantastic part is that the Japanese commercial for them features the cameras actively pooping the photos out. Incredible! Go to
http://www.takaratomy.co.jp/products/xiao and after the animation loads, click on CM Gallery. Amazing.
I could write for days about what's been going on - my utter elation with the election (and my favorite parody, which refers to Obama as
Hopey McChange-Pants). Being proud to be an American, and a Seattleite. Seeing Gwar. Talking to
Don Hertzfeldt. Checking out 9 books on wedding planning all at once. It's been an exciting couple of months.
But instead I thought I'd share a couple of songs I used to have on my answering machine in college. Back before I had actual businessy people calling me I always had fun answering machine stuff on.
My first answering machine message was a 'duet' of sorts, with
me and my long-time homie
Zac who moved up here with me from Oregon. To the tune of "Intergalactic" by The Beastie Boys.
You've reached the house of Mike and ZAC
We'll call you when we get BACK
Leave a message at the BEEP
If you're a salesman go to (answering machine beep)
My other memorable one was done solo with music behind it. My
roommate at the time's father complained endlessly about it since it went a minute and a half or so. Oh well. To the tune of "Want You Bad" by The Offspring.
Well you have called me on the phone
You might be surprised to find that... I'm not home.
Where or where now could I be?
Maybe work or school or even... sleeping.
(don't remember, don't remember, don't remember, don't remember - drums)
Leave your name and,
Leave your number...
I'll call you back!
In the bad or
sunny weather...
I'll call you back, back, back, back, baaaack!
Those were good times. Check out
Telekinesis - I saw them last week at the Sunset and they were superfantastic!
