Got my guitar amp today - oh yeah, it so rocks. The coolest part is that it's pop can size, and has a belt clip. Yes, I wear my amp on my pants, and can walk around downtown Seattle jammin' if I'm so inclined.
To complete my new hardcore lifestyle, Caireny gave me a sweet, sweet faux-hawk. To those who aren't in the know, a
faux-hawk is much like a
mohawk, but instead of shaving the sides bald they are just short. This allows me to still wear my hair 'normal' at work, and 'hawked up' when I'm ready to, umm, hawk. Screeee! Screee! That's me being a hawk.
So I realized yesterday that I have these boxes of 5¼" floppied lying around that I confiscated from my folks' when I visited last summer. Many treasures are on these disks, and I finally put in that old floppy dive I picked up at
Re-PC and made me some backups. Now I'm reliving all the GWBasic and QBasic proggies I made when I was between the ages of 9 and 13. Everything past 13 was done on 3½" floppies, which I backed up some time ago. There's a lot of fun, embarassing stuff on there, but for now I will just share this, dated June 6th, 1993 (resized from 640x480 to fit the page):
Note the icicle hanging from the C in 'Cool'. Shaded, even! That's how friggin' cool that is... oi.
Yeah, I'll put some of these online sometime. Especially wonderful is my MightyMike disk, a complete collection of fantastic software as written by an 11 year old me, and the follow-up MightyMike II disk, which was a collection of Windows 3.1 tips n' tricks. Apparently I was born 'dork'.
Last thing about the above - what I find hilarious is that one of the programs (all complete with lengthly descriptions) warns you that entering your name as 'Garhan' will cause your computer to lock up. Oh yeah, Mike 1, Garhan ZERO!
Ok, aside from that, I'm looking forward to the next scripted debate on Friday. K'mon Kerry, push them swing voters over. Now if you'll excuse me,
I need to go rock out and play one of these three songs I've learned for the Guitar:
- Dirty Magic by The Offspring
- Two Timing touch and Broken Bones by The Hives
- 600AD Theme from Chrono Trigger... it's a lot cooler than it sounds!

Just a thought, but you might want to separate these posts - kinda looks like I wrote about Andrea, Factcheck.org, and the Faux-hawk.
Random suggested tune -> NonExist's "Ebony Tower"

Talk about a trip down nostalgia lane! I seem to recall a program about a certain high school teacher too :)
One of these days I'll go through MY 5¼" ers and even the score ... muwahahaha!! MUWAHAHAH! MUWHAAA (cough cough) ...

Factcheck.org, misnamed and ironically misquoted by Cheney, deciphers the truth from the wild imaginings of Bush (and all politicians), in case you need to ground yourself in reality post-debate. It's non-partisan and Penn-affiliated, which gains my trust.

Faux-hawk all you want, you can't deny your inner dork.
And then you said:
