Check this out.
Yep, that's one excited elephant, taken live at my coworker Hack's friend's recent wedding in Thailand. I don't think I need to comment further on that. Look for it's availability soon on
iStockPhoto!. Absolutely incredible. I also like the fact that people actually write on elephants using chalk, but that's not really the focus of that picture now, is it?
So, it seems that about every three days, on average, a new misfortunate event befalls me. I'm like a regular
Lemony Snickett. Let's run through the list:
- Grandmother passed away
- Good friend Stephen passed away suddenly
- Good friend was in terrible car accident, is now in AA
- Sparky has been stolen
And now, my roommate is leaving in about two months! It's no fault of her own - she was counting on a promotion that was apparently a big lie, and if you can't pay the rent, well, you can't stay. It's too bad,
Kat was great to live with, and pseudo-roommate
Jared as well. If you, fair viewer, need a place to stay, hit me up. The two bedroom next door is also vacant now. Ladies are always preferred, because dammit, they're just easier to live with and on average much cleaner. Maybe Bryce will make his journey to Seattle six months early.
I wonder if it's feasible to buy a house or condo between now and February... I doubt it, but if I'm going to pay rent, I'd much rather pay a mortgage and invest in something.
I'm honestly concerned about what the next unfortunate event will be, no kidding. When will this stuff out of my control start turning around?
What good has happened... I played Half-Life 2 for five minutes this morning. Yesterday, December 1st, I could not play the game because of the patch they released on November 30th, which I had no choice but to upgrade to (thank you,
Steam), caused select users (including myself) to experience a non-working game. After much frustration and several forum interactions later, Valve released a patch for their game-breaking patch the day after, namely late yesterday, that once again lets people play. Bunch, Garhan, you are both such fragbait. Sunday?
This morning I saw a guy in Fremont
riding his unicycle to work, presumably. I thought that was just freakin' cool. I need a unicycle that runs off of... biodiesel, or something.
I'm now working on a video for a guy at work involving his cats... there is a lot I can say about this, but I think I'll wait it out until later. This outlet isn't so safe for that sort of thing. The video will be quite entertaining though, I guarantee. Bed now.

Hate to one-up-you here, but I think the best "unicycle in a strange place" I've seen was on the road up the face of Mt. Emily in La Grande, Oregon (state added for those not familiar with the town). I used to frequent that road when I lived there. Very steep, rutty, muddy road, fun to drive up in the fall/spring and... [315 more to go]

I used to frequent that road when I lived there. Very steep, rutty, muddy road, fun to drive up in the fall/spring and see if you can get stuck in mud/snow. Funny thing was, I was going up there last spring, trucking along through the mud, and about 3/4 up the mountain, I passed a guy on a unicycle, also headed up the road... I was a bit confused, to say the least. I had to stare at him a bit as I went past... it was hilarous.

I haven't been this turned-on in years! Mucho thanks for posting the prickly pachyderm on your site. But... what in the hell can you do with it? Jump rope?
And then you said:
