What's eating Rite-Aid?
Tunes Yeah Yeah Yeahs - No Thanks

Holy smokes, the Rite-Aid is being eaten alive! Apparently those warnings I received last year about the condos/retail space across the street are true. Video in blog entries is fun. That was around 2:30 - 3:30 today.

Tonight I went to Uke-apalooza at Rebar tonight w/ Andrea. It was incredible! I love that place! It was filled with creative types, and the ukelele music was exquisite (gives Stephin Merritt a run for his ukelele, I tells ya). I even recognized three people there - Vanessa from my circus class was bartending (first time I've been to Rebar so this was the first time I've verified this truth), Sari from Circus Contraption, and Matt Smith, the talented auctioneer who coersed my drunken being into buying a Clue table! A good night, glad I went.

Of course, the flipside of this means that I once again limited my opportunity to actually work on freelance projects. Fun 1, responsibility 0. So much to do - cleaning, projects, work, oi. Perhaps tomorrow after work I'll lock the door, get myself some caffinated beverages, and just work until daylight. I think I really need to do something like that to meet all my responsibilities.

Yesterday Andrea and I headed up to Steven's Pass - oh, I'm so sore! My body didn't fare as well as my trip up to Baker, but that's probably because we were at Steven's twice as long. I honestly believe my bellybutton touched my spine at one point. My lower right side's been bugging me... I probably bursted a kidney or something. Had a great time though - I even caught some air and gave the half-pipe a try, while Offspring played in the background. I also biffed it hard and got snow all the way down my pants and leg, aiiiee!

Lastly, I bought Tron the other day on a bonus trip to Fry's. I've been to several Sam Goody's and Suncoast's and they never have Tron. Fry's doesn't disappoint with the geek movies. The cashier was equally surprised that this groundbreaking classic wasn't as widespread. The effects are so fantastic for 1982, especially since they had to actually handwrite the software just for now-simple operations like, oh, creating shadows, combining primitives, etc. I can't get over it. Some scenes required over 30 exposures, then they were put together by hand, many with hand-done matting and ink/paint! I've done that before with two scenes over each other, with my good friend the computer, and can hardly imagine. Appreciate, dammit!

Did you know you can download an entire U.S.E. album online? Check it out at Mannheim Worldwide. There was a link to that on the U.S.E. site last week, but seems to have disappeared. Hmm.

dude, i totally watched the machine eat the rite aid yesterday. it was awesome. i watched them start - it went from a pristine building to a building with a hole in it and a bunch of junk inside in no time flat. awesome stuff.
