Here's some brief Mike Q+A:
Q: What's the greatest compliment I can ever receive?
A: "Stop it, I'm going to pee myself!"
Q: What's the most amusing thing to watch, period?
A: A child hitting themselves in the head over and over with something soft.
Q: What do a pirate and a gangsta have in common?
A: Both say 'Yo Ho!'
Pirates! Oh good lord, pirates everywhere. They are the current hot topic. Our local
Seafair Pirates landed last weekend, that was fun to see. Christina and Sunmi came, but just to look at hot guys (well, at least Christina). So many pirates everywhere, it was wonderful. I have some good pictures but all USB devices have mysteriously stopped working on my computer at the moment... hmm...
The night before I saw the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie w/ Alice on opening night, it was most excellent! Do stay after the credits to see the movie-altering extra scene, wow. Perhaps the only thing more excellent than this move is the
Ask A Ninja review of it, I was rolling with laughter.
And my own pirate site
Pirate Jokes.net is riding the high seas of pirate mania as well. I've got a new shirt for sale and some minor advertising on the site now, which is actually paying out much better than I expected! It's like an allowance. It's also getting a shout-out in the new
Pirates Magazine under a pirate joke section, I wonder if that'll bring in some more traffic. On opening day of the new Pirates movie I got about 350% more traffic, that's kind of neat. I have many plans for PirateJokes.net, but have many other things happening at the same time.
Israel has a high interest in pirate jokes.
A site over there has a review of the new Pirates movie, complete with a link to my site! How cool. I'm pretty sure this is Hebrew for Arrrr!
Maybe pirate jokes can be the key to peace in the middle east.
I kidnapped Alice and we went to Oregon for the weekend of July 4th, that was really nice. I really need a good dose of
Wallowa every so often. Where else can you put your child in a cage with a wild turkey as part of the official Independence Day Town Celebration's petting zoo, and hose down your girlfriend and random children with a garden hose from whatever building you happen to be standing by?
It's so amazing how things can change for people in such a short time. Just in the last six months there've been so many marriages, pregnancies, people moving across the country, and more. My good friend Garhan-without-a-web-site is getting married next year, insane. And I'm doing my own business now while Art Institute homies from my past pop up to throw work in my direction - exciting times. It just goes by so fast. I think I need to slow down and look at some
deep underwater sea life.
There are many fun events happening this week:
-
Circus Contraption! The most fun you can have in this city without breaking the law. I can't shut up about them. Go check them out this week while they're still in town!
- Bite of Seattle is going on at Seattle Center... time to gorge myself.
- Homie Matt is moving to Florida and needs to get rid of an entertainment center and enormous queen size bed frame which weighs ~10,000lbs. Leave me a comment if you're in the Seattle area and by some fantastic fortune you are really interested in one of those.
And a couple random things - fans of hilarious/wonderful/mildly disturbing animation should know that the
Bitter Films Volume 1 DVD is available for preorders right now. This is the guy who did Rejected, Billy's Balloon, and other unforgettable stick animations. This is also a separate, but
fine stick animation.
Check out James Clar's
rockin' light cube (and his other amazing lighting stuff).

I shake my fist at those sooty orphans. Who do they think they are?!

Say, didn't your comments used to appear in reverse order? You're trying to confuse me, aren't you! Expect "mental anguish compensation" on your next bill!

Bite of Seattle sure missed you, Miko. There's been a huge surplus of food here since you've been gone, we've had to give it to the sooty orphans!

No.

I'm so sad I missed Circus Contraption this year... Do you think it missed me too?!
And then you said:
