Poverty, vomit of the gods
Tunes Belle and Sebastian - Step Into My Office, Baby (this song rocks)

I was very happy to have sparked such insightful conversation with that last blog entry. However, tonight I pledge to not mention politics - another day.

On Friday I went to a fundraiser for FPA. Apparently it was an auction - all I knew was that $15 would get me free dinner and that I was guaranteed a prize. Did I mention there were free drinks? A wise strategy for their agenda.

The auction began with their hypnotic emcee, Matt Smith, asking us if we had a predetermined idea of how much money we'd be willing to spend. That was our 'comfort zone'. We were going to go 'beyond comfort' - this resulted in people chanting 'Beyond comfort!' and 'To end poverty!' over and over. All good stuff, I liked his twist.

Well, I went way the hell out of my comfort zone (and into the comfort zone of Mastercard) by winning a custom-made table. But not just any table. This table features a glass-covered Clue boardgame (from the 1940s!) as the tabletop. Under the table is a velcroed folder containing all the game pieces. This table freakin' rocks. Pics soon. Tiiiiieeeeeght. I even briefly talked to the people who made the table and had the boardgame in their closet. Despite all of the table's greatness, when I woke up the morning I felt very 'beyond comfort'.

I also went to beautiful Vancouver, BC this weekend w/ Andrea and Elicia. Good times. I joked with some people that I was going to run off into the Canadian wilderness and live my life as a Canadian mountain man. Heh, heh.

We ran into a very fascinating person there named Miraz (or something like that), who writes for a sitcom in the UK, and stressed that I should work in film. To him, everything was beautiful. Lots of stoner talk. He also spoke of sweet and sour chicken as vomit of the gods. That is my new favorite thing to say. We spent all night with this guy.

I would very much like to see The Incredibles this week.

Here's a close-up of Colonel Sanders... from beyoooooond the graaaaaave!

I'm dead.

Oh, and I did this recently. Dorkus malorkus:

You are Amiga OS. Ahead of your time. You keep a lot of balls in the air. If only your parents had given you more opportunities to suceed.

And then you said:

btw, Mike...your Osaka was indeed tasty. Much much much more so, it was indeed ghetto. The people were nice, but you get crazy people. I was about to go into great details, but I'll just put it up on my site. Enjoy those fields of magnetism.

I'm all about some Clue. I miss playing board games. It's been so long since I've had anyone to play Risk with that I've forgotten how to play. I miss games of murder, mystery, and world domination.
Andrea, 11-12-2004 with $0.10
Yeah Mike, you tell that Bunch Punk.
Mike, 11-11-2004 with $22.16
Sadistic cat, eh? Funny, my inspiration was "I'm dead... eat my chicken you sunuvabitch!"

Bunch, if you only knew the untold hours put into turning a standard costume beard and moustache into a haunted, spooky beard and moustache from the world of the undead. Andrea knows how to make acrylics sing!

You do not know me but Jason knows me so I semi-know you by a distant association.

We should start an Amiga club. Yes, yes.

Also: there is a sligh sadistic cat-like expression on your face in that picture. I am not convinced that is what you were going for, but interesting (in the best way p... [23 more to go]

Colonel Chicken, you rock. Thanks for giving me props for the very intimate video. Are you feeling any more comfortable about your game table? It is so rad, seriously, I can't wait to play a game on it. Guess it's not very packable though. It may be warm again by the time I get out there to see it again, so make sure t... [13 more to go]

Hmm... I turned out to be a Slackware linux. "Brightest among your peers, but often mistaken as insane". That's pretty much me in a nutshell... sure...

Ya know, I love the Col. Sanders pic. It does look like the colonel, however, a pissed, "where the hell are my chickens!?!?" undead colonel.
