I've been sick all bloody year! What's with that? I'm definitely paying for all those winters where I didn't get a lick-o-the sick. As soon as I got better from the McDonald's Breakfast Burritos (of doom) I immediately received all cold symptoms, in progression. Achiness for a couple days, then crazy twisted stomach for a couple days, and now sore throat/coughs. I think by Monday I'll be all better. Galaga at Shorty's that day, I say.
Today on the radio I heard a guy interviewed in Indonesia, who said that the reason they smile and have good attitudes is because "We've lost all our tears." That's one of the saddest things I've ever heard!
I recently got some playing cards from Russia - they're awesome. 'Sins of the Mafia' - each of the 36 (6 - 10, plus D, B, K, and T) cards features a different depiction of mafia sins, from cherubs drinking wine, to two prostitues in an embarassing scene with an eagle, to a cowboy robbing a bank. Anyway, this is part of the parcel from Moscow, and I thought it was kinda cool.
So it seems that bunnies are either taking over my conciousness or I'm just highly aware of them now. Here are some bunny things that have happened to me over the past several weeks:
-
Bunny dream
- I bought '
Bowling Bunnies' for my nieces' Christmas present (big hit, too)
- I've been seeing a lot of bunny stickers on cars...
- My iPod
always plays the song
Let's Pretend We're Bunny Rabbits by The Magnetic Fields when on 'random' (and nearly the entire
Inner Circle CD... c'mon, there's nearly 2000 songs in there!)
- When I was coming home from California, there was a guy in front of me on the plane dressed as, I swear to God, a pink bunny. Full costume. So I says to the guy, 'Hey, you've got to tell me, why are you a giant pink bunny?' Turns out he was a Christmas Bunny, like in A Christmas Story, and decided to wear the costume home. He left it at that. I actually expected a guy in a bunny costume to be a bit more talkative. He seemed tired.
Today I helped Andrea put her computer together. It's so easy now! Oh my goodness. No IRQ/DMA madness. You don't even have to worry about Master/Slave stuff with an SATA hard drive. Crazy. For under $600 Andrea now has a computer that could eat mine for lunch... oh yes, it's time to upgrade. Her Athlon 64 was taunting me, I swear.
Speaking of computer dork stuff, I beat Half Life 2 recently. Incredible last chapter - incredible game. A much better purchase than DooM III for all the wowiness, though DooM was pretty damn scary at times. It's good that I beat it, since it was getting in my mind. Seriously, I'd be walking around and try and will my mind to 'zoom in'... that's not good. But it would be indeed sweet.
