Check this out - today I discovered that one can view my site through Jason-colored glasses.
Here's the link. I'm pretty sure he'll fix it as soon as I post this, so here's a screenshot:
Today I went
snowboarding w/ Andrea - probably the last time for the season. Even though I only went up three times this year, that's pretty darn good, considering how the weather's been! It was really great today, and Andrea and I both did fantastically well. I even got into a fight with a cougar - local acquaintances will be able to see the scars on my face this week. I had to manhandle the beast with my bare hands, saved the whole mountain, it was pretty cool. Oh wait, it was either that or I ran into the giant pole for the chairlift. Right, that was it. I wish something much cooler happened to me, though. Stupid face... always bleeding and stuff.
At one point Andrea and I were going down the mountain, just standing and moving smoothly at decent speed down a very slight slope. Clearly, I thought "Andrea and I are a punk kid and Marty McFly from Back to the Future II, racing on our hoverboards right above the earth." This is a side effect from doing too much work this week (e.g. too much geeky influence), and reading Dave Eggers books.
Speaking of dorking it up, I'm really excited for
Zeta OS to come out. I loved BeOS about 5 years ago... I'd like to give this evolution a spin.
I'm all for working beyond the call of duty when necessary, but this last week really sucked. Although it went by quickly, I had zero personal time, and feel like a week was taken from my life. On Friday I (along with most of the web crew) stayed until 11:30 at night! That's crazy. And the worst part is that I still have a ton to do, so the pressure's still on. Blah, blah, complain. Salaries suck.
Ok, so check this shizzle:
Chris Levine makes light sculptures. How cool is that? What a career - I think that's great. I can linger for hours in the lighting sections of most department stores - I love that stuff. So, he's designed this amazing in-house laser lighting system, the
Laserpod. I need one. Birthday's coming, folks. Buy one for
Jason too, as his birthday is perfectly aligned with mine (although a few years too early).
Today at about 8:30am I saw a woman on the street, her appearance falling somewhere in between a prostitute, Heidi, and a professional German beer drinker. The peculiar thing is that she was rollerblading down the sidewalk with an angry look on her face, and her mouth was very animated. I couldn't tell if she was yelling, talking on a headset (or to herself, it's hard to tell anymore), or chewing some Big League Chew. Whoa!
I have a little theory about how populations of people who live by the ocean are generally more intelligent, crafty, and proactive than those who live in land-locked areas, or even by large lakes. I base this on the historical and technical accomplishments of various Asian countries (Korea, Japan, China, et al) and the American East/West coast election results in 2004. That is all, thank you. Speaking of theories, I think
Kat has a good one.
When I am about 40 I hope to have a salt-n-pepper beard, Gilligan hat, and a big smile on my face.

Sorry, Mike. I had to shut down your evil h4X0ring ways. At least you still have your screenshot.

The extreme faceplanting jank also seems like it may be an issue for you, as well. I couldn't get other sites to allow me to do that. Seems like there should be checks in place to make sure the site is being called from an appropriate server.

Nice. Never even thought about that, but it's pretty cool. Do I want to fix it? hmmm...I guess I will.
And then you said:
